Baltech Student Union (BSU) board had a meeting on the 22nd of August in Riga where they discussed the future of BALTECH Student Union, the possible development of Baltech Student Exchange project and also a new chairman and vice-chairman were elected. The new chairman is Danuta Jasmane from Riga Technical University and the new vice-chairman is Kristiina Martin from Tallinn University of Technology.
The main decisions made at the BSU board meeting were:
- the second application round for Baltech Student Exchange (BSE) for spring semester 2013 won’t be launched due to necessity renew the concept and work on attraction of new Nordic partners;
- the next BSU meeting will hopefully be held in late November in Lund to discuss the importance of BSE in universities, to have a brainstorm on new possible project and to elect a new board.
BALTECH Student Exchange is a project that aims to develop mobility and professional-related network of students. A total of 5270 euros is given out for faculty student unions in order to organize two-sided exchanges in the period of the autumn semester 2012. The exchanges started on the 15th of September.
All student representatives in BSU want to express gratitude to the previous board for their involvement in BSU development, especially Sigrid Västra from TUT – the ex-chairman.
