BALTECH Student Exchange (BSE)

BALTECH Student Exchange is a project designed to develop student cooperation and mobility between students from universities participating in BALTECH Consortium.

In this two-way exchange two student groups of 4 to 8 students from different BALTECH Universities but same fields of studies visit each other. Both groups act as hosts and guests, thus building briges between  the two faculty-based student organizations. The exchange includes  academical elements, like company or laboratory visits and also non-formal events to support cultural understanding.

The hosting group is responsible for designing the program according to the partner’s interests, but the program must include all the basic components mentioned in the guidelines:

  • presentations of both student groups (personal presentation, university presentation, organization’s presentation)
  • at least one company visit (in specific field of study)
  • at least one laboratory visit or lecture
  • science club visits and campus tours are recommended

With the funding of BALTECH and the co-funding the hosting group shall cover accommodation, three meals a day and local transportation for the visitors – and that’s what they will be offered when visiting the partner. The visiting group is responsible only for covering travel expenses and personal needs.

Finantial restrictions

Through BALTECH, the student groups can apply for funding to cover mostly the hosting and in exceptional cases also travel expenses. BALTECH will support each application with total sum up to 500 Euros per group for exchanges between Baltic states and up to 1 000 Euros for exchanges between Baltic state and Sweden. The student groups are encouraged to think of innovative ways of saving money and supported in applying for funds from other sources, thus a minimum of 15% of the budget of both hosting programs must come from external sources than the BALTECH funding.

The funding of BALTECH is transfered after the exchange takes place and the finantial reporting is done on the level of each central student union.

Application and deadlines

The applications are accepted twice a year, normally in january-february for exchanges that will take place in spring semester and in april-may for exchanges that take place in autumn semester.

The deadline to apply for funding exchanges in autumn 2012 is June 3, 2012. The applications must be submited to contact persons in each university. So, each application partners have to agree on the conditions of their exchange and submit an application in both universties!

Since we don’t want to share so many contacts publicly, then to access contact information of different faculties the files are under password. If you are interested in our project, please contact the contact person in your university to get the password. Also, please feel free to inform about your wish to exchange in our Facebook account!

Please make sure you go through all the needed documents before you apply!
